Hello Friends, Family and Followers!!

Skinny Dippin' went to her new home back in April, and we hope she is having a great summer cruising the waters of the Chesapeake!!

New adventures may be starting soon for Skinny Dippin's former Crew!! As soon as we know for sure, we will update you!  The name of the blog may (probably will) change and we may ask for help in renaming it!

We also have a new member of the family.  Let me introduce Bimini Beaty!  She is going to be a great boat dog when she grows up!  For now, we will learn all of the skills a great water dog needs to know!

I look forward to sharing more adventures, on the water or on land!

Bon Voyage Skinny Dippin'

Bon Voyage Skinny Dippin’!

The time has come to say farewell to our dearest friend.  We’d like to thank you for so many things.

Thank you for a kind and gentle introduction to the awesome world of boating and cruising.

Thank you for the many wondrous moments onboard and underway.

Thank you for teaching us how to be better teammates and better companions.

Thank you for helping us to understand the true meaning of flexibility both in boat yoga and in scheduling.

Thank you for teaching us about weather, wind and water.

Thank you for teaching us that perfection is the arch enemy of good enough.

Thank you for the adventure, the excitement, the solitude, the friends, the dogs, the revelry, the jello shots.

Thank you for the education in marine mechanics, electronics, canvas and communications.

Thank you for the sunrises, the sunsets,  the dolphins, for showing us parts of our state that we wouldn’t otherwise have found or appreciated.

Thank you most importantly for all of the safe passages, for always being ready for a new journey and always bringing us back safely to home port.

For all of this and more, we will always be very thankful to you, our Skinny Dippin'.

While there will most certainly be another Skinny Dippin’ in our future, there will never be another one just like you.  Thank you for so many fabulous memories.  We only hope that your new owner will love you as much as we have and that you will take him on as many amazing journeys.

Fair Winds and Following Seas to our fair Skinny Dippin’.  Safe travels to you and all who cruise aboard you.

**To our followers, this blog will be reactivated when the next adventure appears. Thank you for your interest in our adventures.  We look forward to what till come next and look forward to sharing it with you as well.

Time To Say Good-Bye

Time To Say Good-Bye

It is with great excitement that we would like to announce that Skinny Dippin’ is officially on the market!! The first step in buying our second boat is selling the first boat. With that being said, if you, or anyone you know is currently in the market for a well-kept extremely economical Sundeck Trawler w/ Single Diesel Perkins 135hp with stern thruster, let us know.

Price: $79,000
Make: Senator/J.R. Yachts (importer)
Model: Futura Sundeck
Length: 35’
Beam: 12’
Draft: 4’
Bridge Clearance: 16.5’
No. of Engines: 1 (Perkins 6.354, 135hp) Approx. 2400 hrs.
Cruise Speed: 7-8kt
Fuel: Diesel (1.5-2.0 gph burn rate)
Fuel Capacity: 300 gal.
Water Capacity: 150 gal.
Holding Tank: 30g
Location: New Bern, North Carolina

This is the perfect size for a cruising couple or a single-handler. With a single stateroom, single head with large shower, large salon and galley down configuration, she offers a lot of space for a boat her size. In addition, without too many systems to leave you stranded, it makes her also a very good boat for people new to owning a larger-format vessel. With a full keel, the prop is well protected. Perfect for the inland waterways and the shallow areas of the Bahamas.

Skinny Dippin’ has taken us from Manteo NC to Georgetown SC and all ports in between. Coastal cruising or doing The Great Loop, Skinny Dippin’ is ready and willing to go. Our 2009 survey listed her as above average. Since then, we have taken great care keeping her up while adding a lot of useful and needed updates and upgrades.

We have operator and owner’s manuals for practically every piece of gear onboard. This also includes the engine’s owner’s guide, maintenance manual, and a full parts list. All of this documentation is printed and sorted and organized in binders. We will also include the maintenance log book that records all major (and much of the minor) work done back through the previous owner AND the original blueprints from the Taiwanese boatyard that built her.

This boat this very well-kept will not last long on the market! We are happy to show you the boat at your convenience during any upcoming weekend. She is conveniently located at the New Bern Grande Marina at the Doubletree Hilton in New Bern, NC.

Notable upgrades include
A complete upgrade of fuel management system (including a fuel scrubbing circuit).
A complete system rebuild of the DC charging and DC management system (new 50A charger, Duo charger, battery switches, Victron gauge, and new cabling, fusing, and lugs).
